Valerie Borycki

Valerie Borycki is a contemporary artist who expresses emotion through the use of color and texture. Primarily an expressionist, she incorporates various media into her work . She endeavours to tell stories through her compositions. She studied at the U of S , Mendel Art Gallery and at the Emma Lake Campus. She exhibited her first solo show in 1979 and has had numerous solo as well as group shows regularly since then. She has taught her art techniques at many venues and presently invites cancer patients to her home to work with art as a healing tool. Her exhibition "Borycki's Baba's" was held at the Ukrainian Museum in 2003. In it she celebrated the joys of aging and the blessings of older women in her life. This display was televised nationally on CBC, with Lloyd Robertson. Collector's Choice carries her work and art can also be viewed at her home studio "The Valerie Gallery".
