Ann Brooymans Donald
Artist's Statement and Biography

Ann Brooymans Donald is an art educator and artist who has moved to Saskatoon, from Toronto, approximately five years ago. She is currently teaching at Bishop James Mahoney High School.
Ann grew up on a farm, in South Western Ontario and is very happy to be back in a place which appreciates agricultural roots. Her work celebrates the landscape. Ann enjoys gardening and the beauty of large colourful spaces. Her present interest in bright, bold colour is captivated by images of the western landscape. Working on sight, as well as from many photos and drawings, Ann tries to capture the energy and the enthusiasm the land and sky convey. Her aim in creating art is to celebrate life and appreciate the beauty of our environment. Her art is a tribute to the gift of creation.
Ann has been in numerous exhibitions in many cities throughout Canada and Holland. She has won various scholarships and awards. She has been teaching art in galleries, museums, high schools, elementary schools, and universities. Ann holds degrees related to creating art and teaching art from Mount Alison University, Concordia University, University of Western Ontario, York University and an Art Academy in Enschede, Holland. Her work is a tribute to the prairies, this great land, and this beautiful country.
