Linda Moshalyk

Linda Moskalyk was born and raised near Saskatoon Saskatchewan. Her earliest memory of learning the skills of art started as lessons in the basement of a neighbour’s house. She has enjoyed the past-time of drawing and painting ever since. By 1995 Linda became serious about creating and teaching art. Her love of nature and her occupation as an arborist has provided her with the familiarity and motivation to paint trees, flowers, and the natural environment. Her work has been featured in the SGI calendar and in the Canadian Trees Magazine. A recent project ‘Prairie Arboretum’ describes the beauty and benefits that trees provide. Her expressions of painted trees are meant to create awareness of environmental issues and the protection of our existing forests, shelterbelts, and woodland stands. This show was exhibited at the Muttart Conservatory in Edmonton in 2006. Other exhibits of her work have been displayed at Centre East Galleries, Gallery on the Bridges, Parkridge Centre Gallery, City Perk, University of Saskatchewan Faculty Club, Gardenscape, and more recently Calories.
Linda is predominantly a self-taught artist who continues to engage in workshops and classes to develop new skills and techniques. She has also attended the Saskatchewan Festival of Fine Arts and the Canadian Watercolour Symposium.
Painting and teaching weekly encourages growth and experimentation. She is also a member of the painting group “The Escape Artists”.
